takayama woodblock prints

i took a few days trip last week to gifu prefecture. i saw this store in takayama, that sells woodblock prints, mostly that have been made into paper trays.
the store is in a traditional shop house, which made it even nicer.
they also made these lovely stuffed animals (for all the zodiac years-2008 is the year of the mouse) from block printed fabric.

I have been reading your blog for a while and love it!!
I will be visiting Takayama in Feb/March 08 and have really enjoyed your post about the wood block print shop.Do you reccommend any other places to visit in or around this area?
Thankyou, Linda.

hi linda,
thanks! in takayama, everything is pretty much gathered together in a small area. if you are not already planning it, i can't recommend enough a trip to the thatched farmhouses of shirakawago. feel free to email me at feltcafe at gmail if you want. ^-^
